Read loudly, whether you can or can`t speak Portuguese and let yourselves carried away to the far end of Europe, by the melancholic sweetness of Portuguese poetry, by the unusual sonority of one of the most beautiful language on earth, by the dramatic, human rhythm, full of regrets, joys and loves of the fado interpreted by the spectacular Amália Rodrigues.
She tells more than anyone else about how Lisbon smells, about the endless love for this city of gentleness, romanticism, and ever open opportunities, about the sun shining here, the scents of roses and rosemary, the wild floral and fruity colors, the flavour of sea and coffee, the musical steps on the paved roads, mixed with the melancholic rhythm of the tram rails.

Lisbon Colored List:

   1. Go for a walk through Alfama, the old and absolutely charming neighbourhood of Lisbon, built by the local nobility and later taken over by the sailors and fishermen of the area, each of them telling their own stories in  this  corner of ravishing city

   2. Go up to Sao Jorge castle to see all Lisbon from above

   3. To complete the range of special views, you also have Miradouro of Santa Luzia and Miradouro of São Pedro of Alcântara

   4. It`s also nice to go for a walk in the little paved streets of Bairro Alto and Chiado where you can take one of the most famous and picturesque cable cars in the world, Santa Justa and Da Bica

   5. Visit the Azulejo Museum and take your time looking at the spectacular details of the decorative ceramics, on the faience and porcelain plates, dating from the 17th century

   6. To have enough art and culture, save your time for the antique art Museum(Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga)

   7. Don`t fail to visit the Genesis Exhibition of the Brazilian Sebastiao Salgado, with 245 black and white photographs, presenting nature and bits of this world, at Cordoaria Nacional. Until 2nd of August!!

   8. If you are keen on rags you can go to Feira da landra in Alfama or in Avenida da Liberdade, on Tuesdays or Saturdays, in the second and fourth Saturday of the month.(from May till October)

   9. Take a coffee break at A Brasileira, one of the best known and oldest cafés in the city, in Bairro Alto, or at the Palacio Belmonte café, by the São Jorge castle

   10. And for something sweet and tasty, The Confeitaria Nacional is perfect

   11. The tastiest landmark dessert in the city, pastel de nata is to be found at Pasteis de Belem

   12. Buy a ceramic object as a souvenir, you can find it everywhere, in remarkable, handpainted pieces, and for some porcelain ones, choose Vista Alegre, by all means

   13. Go to Palácio Queluz, a kind of  Versailles of theirs, a wonderful, rococo building, with super rich interiors and gardens with unique ceramic plates, and another terrific garden

   14. You need to go to Palácio dos Marqueses de Fronteira in case you want to  tell people you have seen a very special place. You`ll see why!
