Fascinating, charming, smart, unforgettable…Yes, as a fado artist, that`s what  every street in Lisbon is like, each neighbourhood of one of the most beautiful city on Earth.
But the beauty of the beauties in a space of…beauties is, to my mind, I dare say, without thinking twice, …a museum, infact a palace which seems to be taken out of Rubens`s paintings. It`s one of my favourites in Portugal, not only for azulejo - the ceramics which made the Portuguese famous -but, particularly for the spectacular labyrinth of gardens over here!

Palácio dos Marqueses de Fronteira is a building that was built in the 17th century for the Marquises of Fronteira, first as a shooting lodge for João de Mascarenhas and later as a residence (still partially functional). The rooms are absolutely genuine, with an extremely overwhelming combination of decorative, ceramic tiles, but also with frescos and paintings signed by great artists, therefore, Fronteira is a must see, especially for these works of art  which brought its name of “The Sistine Chapel of Tilework”.

But the wonder that the palace hides are its gardens that lie on an area of several hectares, with artesian fountains, with busts and sculptures representing mythological figures and the Portuguese royalty;

A real wonder it's the first floor terrace, abounding with ornaments and statues with remarkable details. The building façade is also decorated with porcelain, stone, pieces of glass, and its location is in an area, how else but picturesque and quiet.

Take a seat, breathe deeply, and look. This is a colored wonder!
