Mixology in Lisbon
“The wine of Porto, when rich and healthy, warms his old bones, as nectar does…” that is what Lewis Carol said. But Portugal has got not only the old wine as a symbol of the magical and beneficent nectar. Oporto, Aguardente and Ginjinha… only if you heard some songs about them, you would come to realize how famous they are, to say nothing of the strong, fruity aromas, perfect for desserts and endless nights.
Now it`s my turn to tell you about how fascinated I was by my fave, the cocktail of Lisbon: :)
• Old Alfama…had a fan! ME! A mix of white and black rum, with lime juice, curaçao and orange, mysterious almond liqueur and sugar syrup, at a Wine bar&terrace, from Memmo hotel, it`s just like that, to enjoy the vibe of Alfama
• Challenge Cocktail - a challenge I accepted without hesitating, at Terrace Bairro Alto Hotel, which includes a little gin, some cardamom seeds, a flavour of lavender, lime and cranberry juice, some ginger and sugar syrup. I found it hard to tear myself away from that place…
• Red Berries Blush should be tasted at Rooftop terrace Mundial Hotel, as the Citadelle gin, mixed with some Grand Marnier, and some red berries, grapefruit and lemon, sage and a bit of spiced syrup is just good&fresh for a chill evening, on a particular and super cozy terrace
• Bramble Love Cocktail, from the burlesque Pensão Amor, is equally musical and tasty: beefeater Gin 24, a drop of Chambord, a little lemon accompanied by strawberries and a resistance detail-coriander = an outburst of savory
• Pavilhão chinês cocktails should be drunk when in Pavilhão chinês and when you feel like a lime, pineapple and orange juice, enriched with some curaçao rum.
Saúde!
