1. Don`t even think of missing Jerónimos Monastery, one of the most impressive, gothic monasteries I have ever seen, dating from the 16th century, a UNESCO heritage site
2. Walk in the romantic Coach Museum, which is quite special and calls up the past, when the coaches used to be queens
3. Take some photos of one of the”wonders” of Portugal, Torre de Belém, the famous fortress-tower, a former prison, lighthouse and telegraph, a present-day UNESCO heritage site
4. Antique-lovers should stop at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, that houses works of art and exhibitions of Europe`s greatest artists: Renoir, Manet, Ghirlandaio, Van Dyck, etc
5. Enter the Se Cathedral, the oldest in Lisbon and Sao Roque Cathedral, consisting of more chapels, which impresses us with the richness of the baroque ornaments and by the fact that it`s one of the first Jesuit churches in the world
6. Take a look round Sintra, one day, and visit Palácio da Pena
and Quinta da Regaleira with an estate that abounds with spectacular gardens, both of them being declared UNESCO heritage monuments
7. At Sintra there is also Monserrate Palace, a little jewel with gothic, Indian and Moorish influences, that stands on a wide estate, with a park and a splendid botanical garden, which is also a UNESCO heritage site
8. If you are still in Sintra, go for a walk in the charming, little streets, enter the little shops and have a meal at Lawrence`s restaurant, on the terrace, in the hotel having the same name; the food is very good and the price is reasonable
9. For the fado-lovers, you`d better listen to it live at La Parreirinha or Clube De Fado…it`s an experience that shouldn`t be missed
10. Relish a cocktail at sunset at Wine Bar&Terrace at Memmo Alfama or at Rooftop Bar from Mundial Hotel. There is no doubt about its success!
11. You can have the afternoon tea on the delightful terrace from the Palacete Chafariz d`El Rei or in the stylish lounge from the Avenida Palace
12. Try the Mercado do Ribeira market, where you can also have a food court with everything and where you can eat extremely well..
13. If you like seafood, you should try açorda de mar, a kind of national dish and aimêjoa àbulhão pato, seasoned with olive oil, lemon, coriander and garlic
14. Cervejaria Ramiro is the most popular restaurant with sea food
15. And if you want Michelin stars, choose Feitoria, for a genuine culinary art
