With Goethe or Wagner as admirers and passionate visitors, you can`t possibly fail with this rather small, but charming city in the center of Switzerland. Perhaps one of its most popular aspects are connected to its vibrant colors of the so well preserved medieval center, but also its small squares and beautiful alleys where good music is always heard, they are surrounded by lakes and mountains.

Lucerne gracefully and stylishly hosts a wonderful architecture, carnivals and all kinds of attractions, and it would be perfect for you to visit it when the weather is fine. These are some of the things to be done on a summer day:

• Go for a walk in the old center of the city with its renowned landmark, the Chapel Bridge, but you should go to Spreuer Bridge, too (the city has several  beautiful bridges)

• Stop and contemplate the Lion Monument a figure carved in rock dating back to the 19th century that commemorates the massacre of the Swiss soldiers during the French Revolution.

• Take a boat trip on the Lucerne Lake to Vitznau, it`s very lovely!

• You can also go for a stroll by the shore of the lake, through Inseli Park, to admire the city from its opposite side.

• Don`t fail to go to Mill’Feuille Restaurant, which has a nice terrace and interesting dishes and if you want something traditional you have Old Swiss House Restaurant.

• For a good home made beer, you need to get to The City Hall Brewery (Rathaus Brauerei) and for a cocktail, go to the terrace bar of the Des Balances Hotel.

or if you want a view from above the city you can enjoy it from the Bar and terrace of Chateau Gutsch

• Extra note: on the shore of the lake, Sunset Bar is perfect with its décor and a magnificent view at sunset!
