Travel guide Santorini - The closest place to Paradise: Santorini, my love
No matter what the political situation of Greece may be, everybody, wherever they may come from, agree with the fact that the lands where the gods and the muses, Platon, Aristotel and Homer wrote a page of history are one of the closest places on Earth to Paradise.
Cynical or not, Greece fascinates and teaches everybody what beauty really means and has the magical power to reinvent itself, to keep on surprising; when you are ready to say you`ve done it thoroughly, there is still something more to be seen, a corner, a strip of beach, a cool tavern, with thyme and feta cheese salad, a hidden shop in a shadowy street, a cottage in a little village, which seems to be stuck in a time warp and finally it brings you back in its toils again.
When it comes to seduction, spectacular hiding places, charming, little, immaculate white houses, taverns with tempting flavors and aromas, there is always one image that prevails: the impeccable blue of the Aegean Sea, mirrored in the perfect white of Santorini.
Paradise is here, quiet is here, the perfect holiday is always here...
Welcome to Paradise! Enjoy walking in Santorini!
Colored tips:
1. First, rent a car, so that you can move faster and more easily on the island. It`s the easiest and the most convenient way !
2. If you are searching for a quiet and romantic ambiance stay in Imerovgli, a peculiar village, as compared with the other ones, because it`s much quieter than Oia or Fira and has a charmful view of Skaros rock.
3. For a beach in a fancier setting, go to Perivolos, at Seaside by Notos, where you can also enjoy lovely food
and it is still here that you can find Anemos Beach Club
4. In Perissa, it`s nice at Beach Bar,
and in Vlyhada (a very beautiful beach with some grand rocks), go to Theros Wave Bar.
5. You can take a boat tour to Nea Kameni Volcano, or better, you can take a boat as far as the Red Beach which is spectacular and at the White Beach(located right near the Red Beach) and spend all day swimming, or in other words, enjoy the water and the sun all day long
6. Wherever you may stay in Santorini, don`t fail to visit the village of Oia, which is super wow and go for a leisurely stroll in the little streets, walk in the art galleries, but also in the little shops, stop for a coffee or a drink on a terrace with a view of the caldera and have dinner at one of the many good restaurants, such as Ambrosia or Red Bicycle
7. Eat at a tavern in Ammoudi Bay, such as at Dimitris after having gonedown the 240 steps, close to the donkeys that slowly go up and down, too
8. In Fira, that is the capital, you have to check the museum if you are keen on archeology, and if you fancy doing some shopping, you`ll find as many shops as possible here, plus a great deal of cafés, restaurants and bars.
9. Go for a walk in Pyrgos and have lunch at Selene where they have super tasty dishes, and the mezze selection is simply fantastic!
10. In Firostefani - colored rec- go on foot on the edge of the caldera, as far as Fira, and you`ll certainly appreciate the beauty of your walk

11. As sunset is, obviously, a must see in Santorini, and most people hunt for it in Oia, you can go for a cruise at sunset ( with Santorini Yachting Club), or you can admire it from the castle's ruins or at a terrace of a bar or restaurant (attention! you`d better make a reservation at a terrace, in good time so that you won`t have trouble with it)
12. And if we still deal with sunsets, in Fira I liked the one I watched at Palia Kameni Cocktail Bar, the most, at the lowest terrace(I recommend reservation during the season)
13. And for, let`s say, a less crowded sunset, go to Grace design hotel, in Imerovgli, that has a pool, one in a million(which many travel and design magazines advertised) and order a cocktail, too

14. If you are a night-hawk, go to Tango or Casablanca(both of them in Fira) where you are going to find plenty of music and cocktails
15. Don`t leave without a souvenir: natural cosmetics, essential oils, olive oil, ceramics, they are perfect!!
