    1. An extremely picturesque spot is Sasson Dock, where fishermen come with fish and sea food and you can see how fishes are unloaded by throwing the baskets in a rather unsteady equilibrium, you can also see how others are catching them in the air, without letting any fish drop off, or women removing the scales of the fish, cleaning the shrimps, because they sell them without bowels ,you can see the customers bargaining; go there as early as possible in the morning to catch the whole  activity, it`s definitely worth it, the only disadvantage is the strong, unpleasant smell and the fact that you are not allowed to take photos(we were drawn the attention and asked not to have our camera, not even at sight and to let it in the car or in the bag)

   2. Go to Dharavi Slum(that appears in Slumdog Millionaire), the biggest      slum in Asia, to catch the local colour and to see live, how people live and work here. It`s quite impressive…(colored tip: go with an agency like Be the local Tours, which I was with, or Reality Tours &Travel)

   3. Go for a walk in Hanging Gardens

   4. Go for a walk on the Chowpatty beach, before sunset, a well-known place for walking, where the locals go for a leisurely stroll, in the evening or sit on the sand and eat street food from the peddlers

Apus pe plaja Chowpatty, Mumbai

   5. Visit Elephanta Caves, some rock-cut caves on the Elephanta island, 50 min. away from the Mumbai port, representing Hindi figures from immemorial times

   6. Shopping fans, I haven`t forgotten you::
              - jewels at Amrapali
              - embroidered, cotton or silk tunics, terrific and perfect for the beach in Neemrana Chikankari and as gifts

Bombay Store, Contemporary arts&crafts, Bungalow 8 or Central Cottage Industries Emporium are my recommendation

Bonus: if you want to admire all sorts of saris and  learn about them, go to Kala Niketan, an old store where you can find embroidered saris in all nuances, that dazzle you

   7. Try Tea afternoon buffet at Taj Mahal Palace. It`s for the connoisseurs and not only, for a great afternoon

   8. Watch the sunset with a cocktail at Bar Dome and Aer. Believe me, it`s definitely worth it!

   9. For a top atmosphere and a special gastronomy, try Ziya, written on the list of the 50 best restaurants in the world

   10. If you want the best sea food, cooked in all possible ways, eat at Trishna Restaurant. 100% Mumbai

   11. Don`t leave the place without eating biryani rice with dhal and drink a liquid which is also a dessert – fallooda with rose syrup and ice cream…Di-vine!

   12. And if you are a street food fan, in Mumbai you have a lot to try out
