The 16 lucky ones or the colored voyages of 2015
And another one is over. I am still delighted when I look back through the vista of the past, gladly making plans for the new year to come.
And because the best resolutions are alaways built on the foundations of past accomplishments, I decided (with a bit of nostalgia) to look at the new year ahead, there is one week left until the end of it, and enjoy the countless memories it offered me…
Puerto Rico – or “the strangest paradise on earth”, with its emotions, legends, magical events and places, which I travelled through, with my heart open and extremely fascinated by everything

Sibiu - I always come back to Sibiu with heart and soul” that heaven I cannot stop regretting”(#cioran) and, with the same conviction, I also share the “quiet” for a town that I saw for the first time 20 years ago and where I return as often as possible, for the charm of the old burgh

Hotel of Ice (Balea Lac) – in 2015 it was an encounter&revelation, first performance; I was very pleasantly surprised, all the more as I visited the original Swedish one and I could make comparisons. Ours has definitely its typically Romanian charm and I found it interesting that you can only get by cable railway to Balea Lake, where it snows exactly like in Andersen`s fairytales

Mumbai – a wow surprise! Although I went to other, more picturesque areas, in India, (some people would say), Mumbai was a charming revelation, a city of contrasts, a cosmopolitan and civilized one, perhaps the closest to the energy of a western city
Venice – I am stunned by its beauty whenever I get to its canals, famous all over the world; the amazing palazzos, the mysteries, the magical, the splendor, all of them make La Serenissima a city dear to the soul, one of the most beautiful colored encounters of 2015
Lisbon – absolutely charming, with the melancholic sweetness of the Portuguese poetry, with the unusual sonority of one of the most beautiful languages on earth, with its dramatic rhythm, so human and full of regrets, joys and loves of the fado; a city that I wanted to visit in the dead of summer (I first visited it during winter time) and I wasn`t disappointed at all…
Istanbul – the metropolis where I keep on discovering new and cool spots, all the time, in the exotic bustle of the mosques and royal palaces, with bazaars from where you can`t leave empty-handed (as the merchants have the gift of the gab) and with one of the best sweets in the world: Constantinople of everlasting holidays
Peles Castle – I called it, obviously assuming the responsibility, ”one of the most amazing palaces in the world”; I think in 2016, too, I`m going to plan a new romantic and historic walk along its long, gorgeous corridors…

Santorini - is the magical spot for me, where I return with the same joy every time, here is the heaven, here is the quietness, here is the perfect summer...
Sighisoara - is unique, is special and I check it almost every year, for at least several hours, within its 7square km of absolute beauty; 2016 has it on the list again
Mallorca – despite its touristic energy, with some areas, let`s say, not so attractive, has some gorgeous villages, dreamy bays, charming restaurants and hotels, and…it`s the spot for celebs
Bodrum - it's uber cool for a weekend of fun,at the beach. There are beach clubs, bars and plenty of restaurants where you can dine by candlelight. You can find all this in my favourite place in Bodrum,Golturkbuku village.

Capri – seems to be a beautiful dream(but, fortunately, it`s tangible reality), that has came true twice, so far, whose cinematic aura urges me to return to mankind`s favourite island with a history of 2 glamorous millennia
Provence – has an honourable place in my heart, a corner of this world that j`adooooore since 2009, when I visited it for the first time.; Provence, the one in lavender colour and flavor, with its les villages, Mr.Daudet`s stories, the impressionists`fine touches the abbeys, pastis&bouillabaisse and les calanques …
Paris – c`est Paris! It`s the wonderful city about which Hemingway used to say that, if you are lucky enough to live there while you are young, wherever you may go afterwards, it will stay in your thoughts for ever and follow you everywhere. Paris is my festival of joys in 2015 and “je promis” that, at least once a year I`ll save some time and come back here #lapromesse
Havana – ah, my happiness, my greatest joy to be here, 2015 brought me back again, for the 3rd time; meeting it again was like coming back home with new discoveries, fresh stories but in the same rhythm of happiness and desire for living life to the full; changes which I try to get used to, like the native Cuban, many of them being one of the most open-hearted people I`ve ever met during my 15 years of colored journeys.
2015, you`ve been good; 2016, get ready to pack!
