• Gulai House at The Datai Hotel is the best Malay and Indian restaurant on the island, being located in a 100 year old rain forest, in a rustic and homely ambience, with cushions and low tables and a typically Malay welcoming: hand washing.. The dishes are served on a bed of banana tree leaves, in traditional, ceramic bowls. You can eat a delicious, sea food curry, and for dessert a ketayap ( a pancake with pandan, coconut cream and vanilla ice cream).

• The Datai has also an ace up its sleeve, this time more elegant and relaxing, with ambient music, intricate orchid arrangements and warm light of candles. At  The Pavilion you can enjoy Thai cocktails and food, with fresh herbs and almost miraculous ingredients, in a dream setting.

• The Lighthouse Restaurant and Bar, a perfect place for relaxation under the shade of a coconut tree, or for catching a gorgeous sunset, or for having a super fancy dinner, with typically Malay and Mediterranean food-nice and brown clams and prawns, mushroom soup, perch with prawns, lobster and other sea little creatures.

• Nam Restaurant at Bon Ton Resort is truly extraordinary. I tasted a combination of Malay and Chinese cuisine here, with a lot of dainty disheslike beef and peanuts, lamb and curry, prawns rolled in pandan leaves, rice with mango and cashew, plus an extra mega dessert: black, sticky rice, crème brûlée and coconut ice cream with fresh mango and passion fruit salad. O.k., I`ll stop here…

• Chin Chin Lounge Bar and Sunset Deck at Bon Ton, too, have all sorts of wonderful cocktails, including coffees with liqueur, tasty tapas, in a relax&chill TONE.

• Charlie's Place at The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is a suitable place to relish a cocktail, after going boating among the spectacular cliffs in Langkawi Geopark.

• At The Cliff Restaurant and Bar in Pantai Cenang, you have a unique view over the Cenang beach, particularly at sunset, delightful, high-spirited nights, with delicious Malay dishes and a cuisine with western influences, drinks, contemporary, chic, fab design.

• Rhu Bar at Four Seasons is really special, through the complexity of details with Arabic, Indian and Malay influences, reflected in the design of the wooden screens of the willow sofas, (covered with colored cushions ), and of the pool table; it is also special by its Japanese menu, and its impressive list of wines &cocktails. Colored recommendation !

• Ikan Ikan at Four Seasons, too, is equally rustic and elegant, classy, with separate screens, a lot of wood and willow, just perfect to relax&have lunch or dinner.

• Yellow Cafe in Pantai Cenang is a farewell place, so to speak,with an extremely beautiful sunset, a super duper pizza and a…how else, but perfect mojito!
