5 star resorts, willow sofas with intricate knittings, combined with great textures, Japanese influences, contemporary design, Indian touches, hot spot, Malay specialties, fabulous ambiance, arrangements with delicate orchids and romantic candles, which fan ardent passions…that`s what I found in the rain forest in Langkawi. It seems hard to believe, doesn`t it? And I can add some more things on my list, because this little part of the world offered me one of the most unexpected, ”colored ”settings, a mix of unique wilderness and overwhelming luxury. And, to make the setup complete, I also tried their mixes of drinks, in stylish, flawless bars and restaurants, in a perfect, tropical scenery.

Let’s taste the true good life:

• A cocktail worthy of a sunset, by the book - Lungkawi sunset, at the colored Rhu Bar (Four Seasons Resort Langkawi), a tropical explosion: a drop of gin and banana liqueur, blue curaçao, then fruits to fill, from bananas, lime juice, coconut cream and sugar syrup. Sweet and diaphanous!

• A personal creation, The Cliff (a restaurant in top 5 Langkawi), The Cliff Hanger - “hung “ me with some rum and triple dry, mixed with orange and pineapple juice, to which lime and juicy peach syrup are added…

• The more furious it sounds, the more delicate it looks - Torpedo, at The Pavilion(The Datai Hotel) is a champion of cocktails in 2014. Fresh apple juice, wild mint syrup, passion fruit purée, a bit of apricot  brandy and…the vigor coming from the Southern Comfort liqueur.
