One of the things that I love when I discover “colored places” is to learn about their history, legend and “gossip” , about the people who made the above-mentioned places holy; and if, at least a bit of “noblesse  oblige” slips in the story, everything becomes undoubtedly interesting.
Therefore, what I am going to share with you has “the perfect recipe”: histories with marquises, the French revolution, Napoleon Bonaparte, a Michelin guide dating from 1900 (actually, the first of all the guides to come).
Also slip in a very well known refrain with “le pont d`Avignon”, Provençal emotion, as much as your heart can feel, un château “délicieux” and..voilà! Hotel Europe Avignon.

• The marquis of Graveson was the one who raised the building, in 1580, being the most luxurious in Avignon, at that time, and when Madame Pierron turned it into a hotel, at Napoleon`s  request, gave it the name that still exists today: Europa Hotel
• It`s the only one in the town that is referred to in a Michelin guide
• An ideal hotel from where you can go and visit The Palace of Popes,right in the center of Avignon, but also the surroundings, the villages of Provence-genuine bijoux like- Les Baux, Gordes or Luberon
• Classic, posh, ultra comfortable are the characteristics of the rooms crammed with pieces of furniture, typical of that epoch, and antiques, of an elegance, specific to the area
