Good-taste and tastes of Lisbon

The Portuguese have a great deal of good luck, in my opinion. They have a relishable, Mediterranean cuisine, which many nations are envious of, with some Spanish influences, from the neighbors (such as tapas which are named petiscos, here), a great amount of fish from the Atlantic, uber cool restaurants, some of them with Michelin stars, cheese and wines, internationally recognized and some desserts just as famous. And besides, there is an obvious pleasure and inclination towards goodfood&goodlife. A thing which matter the most. Let`s get familiar with the salty, sweet and bitter delights of Lisbon…

   • Tavares Restaurant is the oldest in town, with about 300 year history, and a classical and stylish design, with gilded chandeliers and mirrors, and precious furniture-just perfect if you celebrate a special occasion or have a romantic dinner in a super smart place

   • Insolito Restaurant works on the same concept as the hostel The Independente, that hosts it, that is to say a décor as eclectic, original and successful as possible and an ambiance so familiar and cozy that it makes you enjoy the moments you spend there, to the full

   • Decadente is to be found at Independente Hostel, too and is as popular as his brother, having the same owner

   • Taberna da Rua das Flores – is equally little and cool, with only 7-8 little tables, simple food (some dishes cooked on the spot, on the respective day) but extremely delicious, as for the desserts-they deserve grade double A

   • Bico do Sapato has John Malcovich as joint owner, and the location is truly awesome: by the bank of the water, in a wide space, with party&club at the weekend and super duper food-colored recommendation: octopus and rice

   • Belcanto has two Michelin stars and is looked upon as being the best restaurant in Lisbon, even in the whole wide Portugal, having Chef Jose Avillez as a“star”, so, it`s worth going there and testing it (is not the best choice as far as Michelin stars are concerned because, in their characteristic style, the big chefs make a great show of zeal which sometimes beats the savor of food)

   • Mini Bar has petiscos only, but they are absolutely delicious and are artistically made and presented by the same chef, Jose Allivez (he seems to be the star of Lisbon, with several restaurants, including Cafe Lisboa and Cantinho do Avillez )

   • Feitoria - 1 Michelin star you can joyfully find in Altis Belem Hotel, with excellent food decorated with all sorts of brise-bises, created by chef João Rodrigues

   • Cervajaria Ramiro – pay attention! They don`t accept reservations, therefore expect a quite long queue! But it`s definitely worth it, for some seafood, plainly cooked, but very tasty: amêijoas à Bulhão Pato, shrimps in piquant oil, crab and other dishes, as numerous as the sand on the seashore…

   • Pharmacia restaurant si bar – is Funky Fine Food! It`s decorated in a nice and funny way, a mix of pharmacy and hospital and it`s opened in the building of the Pharmacy Museum. They serve petiscos, too, and ordinary dishes, and the chef is Susana Felicidade. If you feel some pain, you can ask an ibuprofen, it`s included in the menu!

   • Tasca da Esquina is a stylish, little tavern of the chef Vitor Sobral, where you can find more pretentious, but very reasonable petiscos. Combinations of cod, tuna, clams, octopus, but also meat with potatoes, eggs or mushrooms, all of them are wonderful!

   • At Wine bar&terrace Memmo Alfama, like on any of the rooftops (https://www.coloredideas.one/fav-rooftop-baruri-lisabona.htm) you can taste very good selections of wines or cocktails, along with little starters and spectacular views

   • Pensão Amor has a burlesque, authentic air, with a rich history, like the building it hosts and is perfect for socializing &drinks

   • Pavilhão Chinês is an interesting decorated and popular bar because it has everything you need: porcelain, dolls, toy-trains, antiques, cups of all sorts, along with drinks and food, all living together in a unique tidy disorder.
