In Shanghai, like in all Asia, there is a real culture of eating in the street. Especially when the goodies invite you everywhere, because the food stalls are all over the place, in the streets. From meat rolls, joint roasted on the spit, boiled corn, to noodles, dumplings, tofu on a spit, fortune cookies...what else shall I say?

We take a good food  break  and, between whiles, meet "Mr.Pancake"! He’s a real character, an old man, a very old man, but who is renowned for his pancakes filled with chives (A Da Scallion Pancakes), typical of China. You’ll probably wonder what is so special about it? Well, it seems that the gentleman under discussion is so skilled, that the people from all over the city come to eat his famous Scallion Pancakes; the locals and the greedy tourists stand in long queues to taste Mr.Pancake’s goodies and it’s like on a battle field, because, unfortunately, he makes a limited number of pancakes. Therefore, if you are lucky, you’ll eat, if not, on other occasion!

What I can clearly say is that I have never tasted, I will never, ever taste and I don’t understand the Chinese’s obsession for them...It’s about chicken’s claws that I’m talking. You will find them in the markets, too, in the streets, and the Chinese simply eat them! They’re a bit crunchy, aren’t they?
