I was talking to some friends the other days and I asked them what is the first thing that comes in their mind when they hear about a fun&relaxation destination, with splendid beaches, Mediterranean air, good food and famous clubs. And to be honest, all of them said Mykonos. The reputation that the island has is definitely for fun, but you cannot exclude all the other things that make it so lovable by all of us, the beauty lovers – restaurants and hotels that offer you as mush as possible, even a little bit of shopping, more artisanal, specific for the area, but very cute. So you can definitely put it on the summer spot list. And what I really love is the way the houses look, like some little sugar lumps in a turquoise water.

Mykonos colored list:

1. The Little Venice area, that comprises the fishermen’s old houses, with balconies above the water, which are nowadays being turned into bars and romantic cafés

 2. It’s one of the most touristic island of the Cyclades group in the Aegean Sea

 3. Chora is the old center of Mykonos, absolutely picturesque, with a maze of adorable, little, narrow streets, full of shops, bars, restaurants, which invite you to stop

 4. The wind mills, a landmark of the island, dating back to the XVIth century

5. The Paraportiani Church (Panagia Paraportiani), which is one of the most important and photographed architectural structure in Greece, that was built in 200 years’ time

6. The shopping part is very rich in hand made things, leather sandals, embroidered objects, ceramics, olive oil and jewels, even evil eye amulets. FYI

 7. You’d better make a booking for a beach hotel, because there are lots of hotels which do not lie on the beach and you are not going to have great fun here

Colored fun list in Mykonos:

1. The Beach Clubs you must go to are Nammos Beach Club, Kalua Beach and Panormos Beach Bar. At Nammos the music and food are excellent, actually these are the reasons why it’s worth going there, as for Kalua, which lies on the splendid Paraga beach, the motto is simple: "Every day is a beach party" (maybe a bit utopian for us, but hey, we are in Mykonos, right? ). Panormos is more like hipster, but is very cool

2. As far as night clubs are concerned, I should mention the two favorite ones: Paradise Club and Cavo Paradiso. Paradise or not, they are almost the biggest in the area, with a tradition for years running and famous all over the world, of course. Checked!

3. The bars are wonderful, and the oldest is Caprice, in the Little Venice area, suitable for something to drink at sunset.Montparnasse is a piano bar with magnificent cocktails, which must be checked, Scarpa si also very cool, and Galleraki, that took its name from the art gallery which used to be there before, is also renowned for its specific cocktails. Delicious, too. At Semeli I loved the ambiance and the setting. The most impressive, as far as cocktails and concept are concerned, is Belvedere Bar from the Belvedere Hotel, where Dale de Groff, "the king of cocktails", brought his 7 "wonders". As for the rest...you have to discover it  by yourselves. What needs to be mentioned is that almost all of them are in Little Venice and overlook the wind mills. Vey cute Queen Champagne Mykonos Bar is quite new, it has a very interesting design and yummy drinks and don’t forget about Delos Lounge, a rooftop bar with a view over the beach and the gardens

 4. Mykonos has also top restaurants to offer, such as Tagoo, Kuzina Mykonos or Matsuhisa and Belvedere, both in  the hotel with the same name, with signature dishes, typically Mediterranean or Japanese, to taste. Sea Satin Market is perfect if you want to try a regular gourmet Greek tavern, with adequate music, and Aqua Taverna is an "Italian Tavern" in Greece, an effervescent combination of vegetables, sea food and ice cream.
