I`m not necessarily the biggest fan of skiing, snowboarding or skating, but I would never fail to venture into the gorgeous mountain resorts of Austria, with my friends. They keep skiing on the ski slopes, all the time, whereas I am there from time to time, but I am happy every day, as I  carry my camera with me, enjoying the surroundings&the scenery, my beloved restaurants, the flavored schnapps (they suit you wonderfully, even without skiing), the fairy-like carriage drives, the medieval atmosphere, the incredible Tyrol. So here I am, back to Kitzbühel, this Mykonos of winter sports and of extremely tasty food, but a lot heavier (both properly and figuratively speaking)

The colored list of Kitzbühel:

1. For the ski-lovers(and not only for them): Hahnenkamm with its Streif (which is super famous and the most difficult one, as a matter of fact), where a competition is being held, too, but also Steinbergkogel ”the right spot to take photos”, at 1972 m altitude, with absolutely ravishing scenery, and Pengelstein, with panoramas, just as spectacular and awesome; these are places that you should definitely visit; you have lots of chalets where you can eat and bars, après ski, where you can drink champagne, boiled wine or the delicious, hot cocktail, Jagatee. Delicious!

2. For sledging&fun: the Gaisberg sledging slope from Kirchberg, 3,5 km long, where floodlit rides take place during some particular days , it`s very cool and fun.

3. For skating: Mercedes –Benz Sportpark couldn`t be missed, and here you have many ice sports, beside skating or the open air skating rink on the Schwartzsee lake, when it is completely frozen.
4. For walking lovers : take a carriage with lipitan horses and go for a drive through the old Center of Kitzbühel, where you can sit at some cafés, such as Praxmair or Kortschak Café Wein

5. For the glutton ones: you can have lunch at many traditional restaurants, such as Kaiserstuben or Rosi`s Sonnbergstuben, where I was totally smitten with the cheese dumpling soup which I recommend it to you, with all my heart and the most popular Austrian dessert, Kaiserschmarrn (a thick and fluffy pancake, cut in little pieces and served with thick sauce of plums-yuuummyy!!)

6. For mixology aficionados: you can enjoy good cocktails at Jimmy`s bar or at Q bar, in the old Center (Maria Theresia Hotel), with its tempting fireplace

7. For a wow factor: somewhere near here, 6 km away from Kitzbühel, you`ll find Alpeniglu, their ice hotel, that is also worth a visit.

8. Extra idea: if you fancy going to far off places but  where you can easily reach, by renting a car, it takes about one hour and a half to get to Innsbruck 93 km away, a charming little town

and 83 km away, you can get to Salzburg, renowned for the old center, a UNESCO heritage site, its baroque architecture and its Mozart&Co.
