Are you familiar with the northern fairy-tales, with empresses and snowflakes,with sleigh bells, with reindeer, elves and little, red houses, covered with snow? I`m going to tell you right now, about a castle put under a magic spell, is the most beautiful of all. And it`s true!

Once upon a time(more precisely in December 2014), there was a fairy land in the north of Sweden, a land ruled by the queens Aurora Borealis and Snö (snow in Selma Lagerlöff `s language). In

Jukkasjärvi, at 200km north of the Polar Circle, there is a land where human imagination created an amazing construction, a real “Glass Palace”; annually, thousands of tourists who are deeply in love with the winter stories, like in Andersen`s fairy-tales come here. Welcome to the Ice Hotel!

1. First and foremost it`s good to know that if you have the guts to spend a night here, I recommend you not to spend more than one night! And, first of all you are given some training, you are being taught how to get dressed properly during the big night. In case you don`t want to experience sleeping on an ice bed, you  should know there are three warm hotels, a kind of chalets, all of them in the same place.(where it`s warm and you feel good).
2. If you are a guest of the Ice Hotel, no matter what room  you may choose to sleep, you can walk in the “glass building” whenever you want to (you`d better not walk walk during the night, of course) and visit Art suites and Luxury suites, some real works of art. Between12:00 and 16:00 you can enjoy a sightseeing tour in English, to find out all the secrets of the rooms.

3. Go for a ride by snow mobile during day time or in the evening (anyway it`s night almost all the time), to seize the Aurora Borealis ( I didn't catch it because it was snowing) with a halt at a chalet, where all the people get together around a bonfire (fika) and are served with hot lingonberry juice and food cooked on the spot. Välsmakande! (that is to say, tasty!)

4.Visit the reindeer farm, to meet all Rudolph`s relatives and Sami Open Air Museum

5. Hire a sledge, pulled by huskies

6. Try the two restaurants over here, by all means, Ice Hotel restaurant where you can have a gourmet dinner, including 4 or 6 dishes, served on ice trays and Old Homestead, with traditional food.
