It is not about Mr. Woody Allen, SJP, Meryl Streep or Liza Minnelli that I’m talking about. They are also "stars of New York", frankly speaking, but only hazard can provide you the opportunity to meet them in the Big Apple. It’s about other stars that I’m referring to, very tempting and much more accessible, even if some are quite "expensive...when experimenting with them": the bars and restaurants in New York. If France and Italy are the "nurseries" for the gastronomic talents, New York is the place where the chefs get together after they have become known as "great", open super restaurants and fiercely compete with each other on the lists of the most awarded places and recipes in the world.

Therefore, I’ll paraphrase the song "if you don’t taste it there, you won’t taste it anywhere".

• Per Se - at Thomas Keller’s restaurant, considered as being the swankiest restaurant in NY, you have to call a month earlier, to make a reservation! The Per Se philosophy is an accomplished one and only dinner or lunch served there once, can make you understand it thoroughly
• Le Bernardin - French, seafood, 4 star restaurant, top of the tops
• Brasserie Les Halles - with a French touch, belonging to the well-known Anthony Bourdain
• Del Posto - Mario Batali’s super awarded Italian restaurant
• Craftbar- Tom Colicchio’s (who is a member of the jury at Top Chef and one of the most appreciated chefs on TV)

I’m sorry you can’t taste, but I assure you that the "delight" matter is as spectacular as the visual work of art in the plates!

 "Colored list" of restaurants in NY:

• Asiate - glam in Manhattan, view over Central Park and decorations with flower petals in the plate....what else can you wish for?
  
  

• Buddakan - is, upon my colored word, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to before, with excellent food! To say nothing of that fact that many scenes from SATC, the 1st part, have been filmed here! I strongly recommend it to you!
  
  

• Nobu - you can’t miss it, because the co-owner here is Robert De Niro and the restaurant has a Michelin star, 3 stars on behalf of New York Times and is a fantastic Japanese-Peruvian fusion. Worthy of De Niro value!
  
  

• Balthazar - French, oysters, snails, clams, onion soup, yummmm, very chic and classy, they also have great pastry shop. You can find it in Soho
  
  

• Spice Market - of Asian inspiration, with pagodas, fabrics in the colors of the sunset, wood carvings and fine bone china, here you can enjoy a royal meal in a super cozy ambiance
• Sant Ambroeus - originally from Milan, is now to be seen in three neighborhoods of New York and is one of the movie stars’ favorite one. I should think so, if you consider the antipasto, the lamb ragout and the tarts you can have there...
• Corvo Bianco - relaxing, comfortable and extremely tasty Italian food
  
  

I couldn’t have skipped the bars, no, no, no. All the more as everybody, each and all, know how famous New York is for its bars. Therefore here goes my selection.

Colored bar list:

• Salon de Ning - one of my faves, I adore the combination of modern and Chinese details and the fact that you can see Fifth Avenue from above! Not to mention the cocktails!
  

• Bemelman’s Bar and Café Carlyle, from the famous Carlyle hotel, with the atmosphere of New York of the ’50 s and where you can find Woody Allen, between whiles, with his jazz band (when he is in town; check the site of the Carlyle Hotel). Charming!
  
  

• Plunge Bar - what I enjoyed here, besides the cocktails I tried, was the 360 degrees view
  
  

And if you want to spend an evening out, listening to music, here’s the place to find dj’s, plasma screens, a stylish bar and generally speaking, a very cool and contemporary air

• Le Bain is both a bar and a club, on a terrace high above the ground, where the most renowned dj in  the world get together. @Standard Highline Hotel
• Rose Bar and Jade Bar are a bit cozier, they are also very trendy and are visited by many celebrities. You can find them at Gramercy Park Hotel
• Rooftop Terrace - a very aired and smart place, on  the 18th floor at the Gramercy Park Hotel, where many events are being held
  
  

• The Terrace on the Metro Hotel or Monarch Lounge on Marriott Courtyard Midtown - other two terraces where you can enjoy a splendid bird’s eye view of the Empire State Building and of New York
