Some travellers find them soaked in the diaphanous fragility of their long history, others consider them imposing and forceful, stylish and proud but most people admire them for the sublimity that humanity created here, pilgrimage places for the creative enthusiasm of Renaissance .

I think the towns, villages and hills of Tuscany have the highest concentration of beauty on square km, everything is worth seeing, admiring, treasuring and keeping at the bottom of your heart. Therefore, here are the spots not to be missed in Tuscany, presented in 10 steps, plus a colored advice: rent a car when you decide to come here, so that you can go easily from one place to another and see as many places as possible.

1. First and foremost, Florence or the crucible of Renaissance, fashion, extraordinary, local cuisine and wine. A destination that every human beinghas on the bucket list of a beautifully lived life.

2. The splendid villages of Val D`Orcia come next (Pienza, SanQuiricod`Orcia, Montalcino) and Val di Chiana (with its incredible Montepulciano and Cortona) but also San Gimignano, Volterra, Pitigliano - all of them are so idyllic that, once you get to the setting, you become part of the local story.

3. The little towns of Siena, Pisa, Lucca and Arezzo, with their homely ambiance, little, paved streets and charming, small squares, with their quietness and calm, are to be checked; you should spend at least one day in each of them.

4. Go to, at least one wine tasting, such as Brunello di Montalcino, visit one of the well - known producers, in a special place like Castiglion del Bosco or Poggio Antico (you definitely need to book in advance and if you get there, have a meal!) or a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano la Poliziano or Avignonesi, both are premium, red wines, originating from central Tuscany. If you get to Montepulciano, don`t miss the historic wine cellars Cantine Contucci which are located next to Piazza Grande.

5. Go up to see the towns from above, wherever you can, for a special perspective: Siena from Torre del Mangia, Lucca from Torre Guinigi, but also Montepulciano and San Gimignano, the towers in this area being loaded with tradition, history and a lot of beauty, or if you fancy some adrenalin and fantastic views, go for a balloon ride, there are many companies that organize different flights, such as: Ballooning in Tuscany or Tuscany ballooning.

6. Try the excellent, tuscan cuisine, both in restaurants, osterias, trattorias, but also in restaurants with a view and don`t miss pasta with truffles, papa al pomodoro, ribolitta, bistecca fiorentina and other marvelous dishes and something sweet, too, as Ricciarelli (a kind of delicious biscuits made from almonds) to be tasted in the sweet shop of Nannini from Siena; extra: vino santo with cantucci cookies, two of Tuscany`s delights… mmm…

7. Once you get to Lucca, you can take a look round the Gardens Garzoni, from the village of Collodi, with terraces and spectacular water gardens. (at about 20 km away from Lucca)

8. The Chianti area, for its villages (such as Greve in Chianti, Rada in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti) and its awesome vineyards.

9. The thermal baths like Montecatini Terme, Saturnia, San Casciano dei Bagni or Terme de Chianciano - honestly, how could we possibly refuse a check-in at the spa? - they should be visited, too.

10. Abbazia di Sant`Antimo, close to Montalcino, is very exciting and it is one of the most important Romanesque architectural monuments in the area, where you can listen to some Gregorian chants (don`t forget to check the timetable online)
