Tuscany is like an open book. With lots of old leaves, read over and over again by everybody, but with some new leaves, too, which each and every traveller “writes” in his own way. As for myself, I am and I will always be in love with the 3 splendors of Tuscany, in my colored vision: Arezzo, Lucca and Siena which I described to you the best I could. So, I randomly present them to you:

Arezzo – a protagonist in Benigni`s La vita é bella, with Guido della Francesca`s beautiful, Renaissance frescoes, in the Basilica di San Francesco and with the house of the artist, Giorgio Vasari with its incredible frescoes, painted by him, is fairy-like.

Extra colored love: Piazza Grande which has indeed a foredoomed name, where you can sit quietly in a café and admire the scenery and the colored crowds that fill in the tiny, paved streets, full of charm.

Lucca - an extremely picturesque little town, with a tower, Torre Guinigi, that lasted in my mind, as, from high above, right from its heart, I caught the very essence of the town - Piazza dell`Anfiteatro Romano crammed with cafés, Palazzo Pfanner with its “stupendissime” gardens, the tiny and cozy restaurants in here, full of locals, where you can eat simple but very good food; and certo, the Dome, always on duty in every larger citta in the area (from here, from the clock tower, you have another wonderful vista of the town, quite different from above, but nothing compares to Guinigi...)

Siena - the third in the cluster of the tiny towns whose origin dates back to Etruscan times, on the lands of Tuscany, boasts of Piazza dell Campo, which is a large, fan-shaped square, bordered by restaurants and cafés where you can drink an aperitivo, but also with Torre del Mangia from where you can see the old town, from high above. The Dome is undoubtedly the biggest and most impressive of all in the area. Plus: the delicious, riciarelli biscuits, to be tried at the Nannini sweet shop, and the old, charming, tiny streets with nice boutiques and restaurants.
