Even if the food in Bali is in most cases Indonesian, with Chinese and Indian influences, with quite a lot of implicit spices, their combinations seemed very successful and tasty to me. In Ubud you can find a lot of coffee shops and restaurants, with very good food, and the design and the decorations are as interesting as the content of the plates.

And as we all know that love passes through the stomach, let me show you my Balinese "loves": places&plates.

• Sari organik - as its name suggests, the food here is organic (they are specialized in growing vegetables and rice in a natural and healthy way), and to get to the restaurant, in Ubud, you have to go through the heart of the rice fields. Walking is pleasant - the rice fields are about 900 m away - and their dishes are very good, typical Balinese food and the natural fruit juices or the shakes are very delicious

• Cafe Pomegranate - where you have a 360 degrees view over the rice fields, so you can admire the scenery that fit the spot, in all its splendor. You can also enjoy more nourishing dishes but also snacks and local drinks
  
  

• At Mozaic, still in Ubud, you have more kinds of menus: Discovery Menu, Tasting Menu, Vegetarian, Tapas, Lounge Menu; it’s a gourmet restaurant, famous for its cooking courses and not only for this reason. It received many awards with the passing years and the chef, Chris Salans, is also known and appreciated in the "gourmet" world
• Cabana Lounge, from the Alila Ubud Hotel, is perfect if you wish an authentic, tasty, Balinese food beside a view with one of  the most romantic pools in Bali
• Cafe Lotus in Ubud, near Pura Saraswati temple, delights you with traditional dishes, with fresh, local ingredients, in a special setting, which overlooks the temple and the pond with lotuses
  
  

• Kafe Spirit still in Ubud, is a café with raw sweets and a spectacular selection of drinks, made of fresh fruits. It is my greatest joy to have them!
  
  

• Murni’s Warung is called so after the owner of the place, a very popular personality, one of the pioneers of the tourism in Bali. The restaurant, with many  floors, has her influence, it’s very cozy and charming, actually there is a whole concept of gastronomy, a real beneficent one
  
  

• Café Bali in Seminyak is a restaurant decorated in an eclectic style, in combinations as interesting as possible, with Asian food and obviously very tasty
  
  

• Cocoon, which you will find in Kuta, is not only a restaurant with a wide variety of dishes, but also a night club in open air, all around a pool, just perfect for a weekend entertainment.
  
  

• Wantilang Agung, in the Tugu Hotel, is ideal for a traditional dinner, with rijstafel (Indonesian cuisine with Dutch influences) and the ambiance is romantic and traditionalist.Here I recommend Sate Lilit Languan, a dish made ​​with minced fish skewers in marinade of green pepper, with rice, fried pieces of coconut and Balinese peanuts, bananas and a wonderful spinach salad, plus a variety of ginger, but also Sate Udange Sereh, which is about the same as the one mentioned above, but instead of fish there are shrimp in papaya soup. I blew you away, I know!
  
  

• Biku, still in Seminyak, is a very inspired choice for a lunch or an afternoon tea, in a traditional style
• Kisik Bar and Grill, from Ayana Resort and Spa Hotel, is a restaurant with fresh seafood, that you pick at the waiter’s recommendation, all done on the grill, accompanied by rice and vegetables plus sauces = absolute delight; and the tables are placed on the sand
  
  

"Colored list" bars :

• Rock Bar at the Ayana Hotel is the coolest bar on the island, with a minimalist design; it is built on a rock, you usually go there for a spectacular sunset and adequate cocktails
  
  

• Ku de Ta in Seminyak is a bar, a restaurant, and a beach lounge at the same time, therefore you can enjoy appetizing cocktails, in eager rivalry, but also many events
  
  

• Potato Head Beach Club is super when you feel like listening to good music with dj, a wow pool, wonderful food and drinks
  
  

• La Plancha, in Kuta, is a very colorful bar on the beach, where you can enjoy a quiet sunset, with a cocktail in your hand, with no one to disturb you, simply watching the locals and the tourists who get together there, in the evening
