The Balinese Ambrosia
The Olympian God licensed it, made it famous, with its savor, its magical powers and its exclusivity. The ambrosia is legendary, its recipe is not known, but I frankly tell you, as a papilla connoisseur, that the Balinese people have some flavorful and surprising liquids, that Mr.Zeus, in person, would be jealous. I tasted them all and I found it difficult to make a top of fruity, spicy and effervescent combinations, so I stuck at a Colored list, directly from Bali:
- Tugu Sangria - a bit more sophisticated than the Spanish sangria, with Balinese rice wine (Brem) ,but also red wine, fresh fruit, orange juice, pineapple juice, lime and ginger juice. Rrrrefreshing, honestly (at Calon Arang Bar, at Tugu Bali)
- Arak Exotica - Bali meets Oriental spices – at Calon Arang Bar, Tugu Bali - so they say about this anise, clove cocktail, Arak, a typical Indonesian drink made of sugar cane and fermented rice, with ginger and cinnamon, liquid sugar and lime juice. Extraordinary!

- Passion Fruit Martini - a classical cocktail, a dry martini, sweetened with passion fruit juice. Simple but extremely delicious!

- Rock my World - if you go to Rock Bar, try a cocktail with vodka, Grand Marnier, pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, fresh orange juice and kaffir leaves (a typical Balinese lemon). Please, tell me about it after drinking it

- Bartender`s Rock Shots – 6 bartender’s shot of the day. They know exactly what they pour into them that respective day, I just tell you that they were super duper! And the presentation, in tubes, quite original!

- Pluto’s Punch - a classical punch, with Bali Moon banana liqueur, rum, of course, triple dry and friendly lime, with bits of guava and orange juice; you find it at Murni’s Warung
