One day diary in Mumbai
Among millions of people, hundreds of things to see, dozens of restaurants, bars, street food, dabawallas, and maaany slums, landmarks, and places to shop, you only have a few hours to check the most important ones.
More precisely, Mumbai in 24 hours.
Ah,let me remind you of one important detail: rent a car you can go for a drive by; it`s much more practical (hectic, adventurous, but practical)
7 a.m. – a visit to Dadar Flower Market, so early in the morning, when it`s chilly and a picture of Dhobi Ghat from above
8 a.m. - Sasson Dock, picturesque and…scented
9 a.m - a walk through Colaba, where you can see old buildings, and reach to Chatrapi Station; on the way you can enter Contemporary Arts and crafts (210, Ground Floor, Taj Building, Dadabhai Naoroji Rd) for some chic souvenirs, and on your way back you can stop and see the dabbawallas
12 p.m. – have lunch at Samraat, a Gujarati Thali traditional plate: you are served roti, papadam, simple rice or with vegetables, chutney and all sorts of bowls with dal, okra in sauce, kadhi, puri ( sweet and spicy curry of yogurt), butter milk and finally, dessert
13:00 p.m. – enter the Prince of Wales Museum, for a bit of culture and art
14:30 p.m. – let`s do some shopping: Amrapali and Neemrana Chikankari, Bungalow 8, Bombay Electric, Good Earth are perfect options
17:00 p.m. – it`s tea time! At Taj Mahal Palace!
18:30 p.m – go and admire Gate of India!
19:30 p.m. – contemplate the sunset at The Dome Bar. It`s dream-like!
21:00 p.m. – it`s time for dinner, a meal to end the day in a spectacular way, at Indigo, on the outside terrace or at Trishna.
Good night!
