If, during this late, rust-colored autumn, you fancy a dream spot and a warm lunch or dinner as vivid as a childhood recollection, I invite you to go to the Dream of Viscri or the house at number 32, right in the heart of the village.

It is only a two-room pension, Johann and Fräulein, super stylish with a huge yard, with 2 lazy hammocks and a hay cock in a corner. Rustic, bucolic, dream-like.

The couple who discovered and carefully restored the estate, Mara and Alexu, are extremely welcoming and nice, perfect hosts.

The building is of Saxon origin, it has been restored so that it can preserve the original elements as well as possible, both those within its structure and those connected with its décor, being enriched with other exquisite, genuine accessories and, of course, with all the modern amenities. The two rooms are suitable for families with children but also for couples, the beds being big and spacious, and the décor is charming, with vintage, wrought iron details, with little wooden benches and Medias and Cisnadie ceramics, and a kind of typically Saxon safe, the so-called “armuroi” and Johann`s scratched signature in wood (he is the one who built the house in 1900).

The few little tables displayed outside are exquisite, and the restaurant is made in a shed, Barn Restaurant which has a menu with very tasty food, based on traditional recipes: bean sour soup with smoked meat and dried plums, veal stew and roast pork, leek soup and nuts, turnip stew, plates of cheeses, egg-plant salad and fresh tomatoes or plates of smoked ham and cheeses.
