As in Tulum almost everything is happening on the beach, the place where you spend your time (even to unwind ) is important. So, I thought a colored top of my favorite beach bars in Tulum would not go amiss. As for me, they must have super-duper  food+cocktails to be perfect and music, too, requirements that are fulfilled by a lot of Mexican beach bars.

What is really cool in Tulum is the fact that you can stay on the beach or at the nearby restaurants from morning till late, at night, you needn`t rack your brains for what to wear - take a kaftan in your bag, too, for sunset-and the flat sandals you came on the beach with, are perfect for everywhere. Let`s see:

Colored list beach bars:

1. Ahau is a super spot, focused on the principles of mother nature, where I enjoyed myself till late at night, with lovely food and music; I adored the parties which started near sunset, with dancing on the sand and candles around. It is the kind of place where you come early in the morning and leave after 11 p.m. during the party days and you are not going to find anything fancy, just people who come here to have fun, it`s as simple as that

2. In Be Tulum you will find that everything is decorated with such, good taste even if this implies local touches plus influences of the 60`s. The result? As you can guess, it is unique, extra cool, and another strong point is related to its divine cocktails

3. Papaya Playa Project also belongs to the group of resorts that support recycling&sustainability but it also has a beach club renowned for its Saturday night or full moon parties. The wide range of cocktails and starters that are waiting for you to indulge in, turns it into something totally wow

4. La Zebra is a spot where the masters of mixology excel at making yummy dishes and great drinks, and you are fascinated by the combo of simplicity and traditional touch

5. A first class Italian bar is Posada Margherita, which has a couch area, just perfect for unwinding  with some cocktails before your eyes; as I was saying, if you fancy eating Italian food this is the right place, and the setup is so cool, with many recycled objects, especially all kinds of wooden doors

6. Doña Eufemia seems to be a secret of Tulum and is preserved exactly as it used to be in the olden days, maybe a bit more extended nowadays, but having the same vibe, with specific food and margaritas, and with some tempting sun loungers, to spend all day here

7. Mezzanine seems to me the ideal place to spend the afternoon, while leisurely sipping some drinks, at sunset, having the beautiful scenery before your eyes, as here you can enjoy dream views

8. Coco Beach or chillaxing, as they, themselves declare it, is a relaxed beach bar with swings and many sun loungers, where all you have to do is to order something cold to drink  and to enjoy everything that surround you

9. Akiin is another recommendation with a nice, unpretentious décor where you have beer, coconuts and simple but yummy food in plenty

Colored tip: many of these bars have parties on certain days, depending on the period of time (to be checked) and in high season try to book loungers in advance because most of them belong to the hotels with the same name; if you only want to drink something, it`s ok, but if you want to stay on the beach, too, book, so that you won`t have any unpleasant surprises!
