I wish my summer residence were in a village, perched on a hill, facing the sea and the sun, with winding streets, with mornings shrouded in a traditional baguette flavor…
And to accomplish the image of my hidden dream, with true details, I`m revealing the villages where I may find myself in the future. 7 splendors in the country, on the Riviera. So that we can be spoilt for choice…

Colored List: 7 villages on the French Riviera:

1.Èze is sublime. It`s delightful with its tiny, narrow, paved streets, with its magical views of the sea, with its exotic cactus garden, huge, almost unreal. It`s nice and quiet in the evening, after all the tourists have left and it`s truly a dreamland. Have a romantic dinner at Château Eza and drink a cocktail at Les Remparts, both having a view of the sea…oh-la-la!

2. St.Paul de Vence is one of Chagall`s favorite spot, you will be astonished by its peculiar charm and you won`t get bored with its tiny, paved streets and art galleries that can be found at every turning ; it is still here that you can find the famous La Colombe d`Or where you can refresh yourself with a drink, or even better, you can have lunch in the garden and admire the extraordinary works of art.

3. Mougins is the village full of pines, olive and cypress trees, you will be amazed by the art galleries and the wonderful restaurants-actually it hosts a gastronomic festival, too; it`s really picturesque.

4. Tourtour, a member of “Les plus beaux villages de France” has its own charm, a big square, where everybody sits at the terraces, among tiny streets with all sorts of awesome shops.

5. Gourdon, a member of “Les plus beaux villages de France”, too, is an old feudal village, with an exquisite castle, perched haughtily on a rock and it is also crammed with “petits magasins”, each and all very interesting.

6. Roquebrune-Cap-Martin offers you, above all, a matchless view over the French Riviera; you need to visit the ruins of the Grimaldi Castle, here, and if you are lucky enough, you can catch it without too many tourists and enjoy it properly (it`s rather small).

7. Seillans (also belongs to “Les plus beaux villages de France” ) has a nice, small square, where you can find the best known restaurant, La Gloire de monpère, with its tables displayed around a fountain that stole my heart for ever. It is equally tiny, intimate and pleasant.
