That`s how the Hindu, wedding vows sound like, they are told by the young couple when swearing eternal love in front of divinity. It`s lovely, isn`t it?
Love means responsibility, generosity, care, honour. Romanticism and Hollywood stories are far from the incredible India, most marriages between Indians being arranged. It`s an integral part of their culture and belief that love comes when they get to know each other. For them true love grows gently, carefully, while respecting the vows; therefore, an arranged marriage has as many chances to happiness as one chosen by the bride and groom. It seems to be a difficult recipe for an occidental, but this way of loving and joining together has been working in the Hindu world for millennia.

Perhaps the most important thing when it comes to their wedding is choosing the right date. It has to be a lucky one! Therefore, indians turn to astrologers to decide the best date.
The Indian weddings are spectacular opportunities which set the seal on tradition, on the confidence in people`s customs and beliefs, in this corner of the world. It last not only 3 days and 3 nights, like in fairytales, but even 7, and there are …thousands of guests! Yes, there are no mistakes, thousands. Their wedding parties are grandiose, with impressively decorated locations and when there isn`t enough room for the great number of guests invited to the big event, in the restaurant, the bride and groom` s familiesrent plots of land (in the proper sense), which they fit up and decorate particularly for the wedding.

If you have the opportunity to get closer to an Indian wedding, beyond the glamour and the bustle of the crowd, I promise one thing is for sure: you won`t forget the décor and the flowers, ah, the flowers! Imagine thousands of hues, fragrances, knittings and complicated mixtures, filigree details, everything being so brimful of decorations, but so…suitable! I was at the time and place, catching such an event( in high season) and having the opportunity to take pictures and even shoot a little of deployment of forces in front of our eyes. And indian people enjoy it when people do that, and they are pleased to invite you to enjoy with them.
