When: preferably from November until April, when thetemperatures in Europe are not so friendly and make you go to sunnier places, such as the Philippines and this wonderful island.
Type: The Shangri-La`s Boracay Resort and Spa Complex has over 200 rooms, flats and villas, with a multitude of Travel+Leisure, Trip Advisor or Conde Nast Traveler prizes over the last years, that obviously make it the “best of the best”.

Location: From Manila you can get here in about 55 minute fly by plane (in Caticlan) and then 15 minutes more, travelling by water, a complimentary sea transportation offered by the hotel; it is located a few km away from Puka Shell Beach and Bulabog Beach.

Energy: the kind of idyllic hotel from an even more idyllic spot, from where you will have no desire to leave and, no matter how hard you would try, you won`t be able to find any flaw. What really impressed me for good? The fact that the beach is private as compared to the others, and the sand is so white and the water so turquoise, that they seem unreal.

Don`t miss
• The most important, the ace of aces: the dream beach stretching into 2 bays-a larger one, with a wide, quieter beach, with only a few people around and an amazing, smaller one which has also a hillside covered by a forest, the place where there are the huge pools and the beach bar, too.

• Comfort, above all, so that, even though you will find yourself surrounded by natural  and traditional fabrics in your room, you will have all you want, there will be plenty of everything: hot tub, private pools, views to the gardens-all are at your disposal
 
• The spa is one in a million, there are a few shops, even a small clinic, and particularly  a wide choice of entertainment for the little ones, in a dream setting

•Sirena, Rima, Cielo, Solana, Alon or Vintana are not names of goddesses (although they might be), but extraordinary restaurants and bars, some of the best on the island, that need to be tried in turn, with a lot of trust

• There is live music at the bar on the beach, at the weekend, but also a fire performance, specific to Boracay, therefore: don`t miss it! 
 
• It`s the typical hotel for escapades and romantic holidays, for couples and fairy-like weddings 
     
• The thing that impressed me the most: Solana bar that looks amazing with its little  tables and sofas with colorful cushions  is my colored spot rec, the beach as well, because is a dream beach and is private, not to mention the absolutely divine feet massage, right on the beach

Not so hot:
• The price + the pool, that sometimes gets overcrowded (but the beach makes up for it, as it is always quite deserted and perfect)
