• I would always choose Dick's Bar (Yaetman), at any time: for its fab panoramas over the river and the Ribeira neighborhood but also for the ones of  Vila Nova de Gaia, for its miraculous sunset which can be perfectly watched from here, for its cocktails and wines, which are far more than perfect and for its relaxing atmosphere …shall I go on?

• Cardosas Bar from the Intercontinental Hotel, Palacio das Cardosas, seems to be a perfect spot, for the 5 o`clock tea or for a bourgeois coffee, as the design is typical of a classic, ultra chic bar, with British accents.

• Bar Nasoni, from Palacio Freixo is extremely refined and needs visiting for two reasons: 1.to drink an extremely tasty cocktail and 2.to visit the Palacio Freixo, on this occasion, too, a gem-hotel and at the same time a national monument

• If you fancy enjoying a 360 degree view over Porto, go to the 17 Panoramic Bar from Dom Enrique Hotel. The terrace, 120m high, offers a beautiful view.

• Bar Livraria da Baixa is private and charming, located in a former bookshop, with an absolutely adorable terrace and many nice, retro, and contemporary details, at the same time. Colored rec!

Top 3 bars with a terrace in Ribeira:

• Quai Wine Bar, where you can also relish petiscos and from where you can catch the river, too, Vila de Gaia, but also the passers-by and bits of the local perfume…

• Almost the same things can be done in the Heritage Bar, which is a bit more stylish and posh and where you can have a wine tasting

• Bacalhau Bar is to be found at the far end of Ribeira, it`s private and smart with an impressive view over the Douro river

• In Vila Nova de Gaia don`t miss the terrace of the Vinum Wine Bar where you can taste Port wines and eat all kinds of extremely tasty petiscos

and the Sandeman, terrace, with tradition, that offers you a very cozy and relaxed ambiance and where you can leisurely sip the Sandeman wines, but also wonderful cocktails, based on Port wine + all kinds of appetizers to go along with the wine. Great!
