One of the most expressive definitions of poetry describes the inspiration for verses, like a rose petal falling and floating slowly through the light of the canyon. It`s a beautiful image I saw some time ago and I kept in the very depths of my soul, until I got to the Antelope Canyon.

I set forth on my journey on a sunny morning, from Vegas; I traveled  long hours through the desert, watching the steep, reddish lines of the décor; I passed through Zion Park, remembering images from “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969, with the wonderful Robert Redford and Paul Newman), filmed in this wild, fascinating setting, and after 5 hours` travel, I got to Arizona border, in one of the most spectacular resorts in the States, bearing the name of an exotic story, Amangiri.

“The Peaceful Mountain”Amangiri), built in the middle of an unforgettable visual story, between dramatic canyons and wild plateaus, is in perfect harmony with the spot which hosts it and follows the aesthetic of nature through materials, textures, proportions. The white stone floors, the concrete, the steel, but also the wood accents are in full harmony with the nuances and the geography of the desert, while the warmth and the comfort are given by the sheds and the comfy textures of the soft pillows, by the fireplace, the large windows, that let you dream under the starry sky. Can you picture a yoga-night session, accompanied only  by the sound of the desert?

I left Amangiri behind, promising we would come back some time “at the foot of the Peaceful Mountain” and we continued our journey to the Antelope Canyon. To the spot worshipped by visual artists, poets, writers, and scriptwriters ,who are looking for Navajo myths. I wended my way towards the sacred energy of a spot which the old men of the former tribe considered sacred  and it is here that they always came back to thank Mother Nature for its generosity.

Oh, how generous it is! Can you see the beams of light? Can you catch a glimpse of the sharp and steep slopes? Can you feel the colors? It`s magic,  isn`t it?
