Director? The master of spotlight ,of the overwhelming settings, Mr. Ridley Scott. Mr. R.S.Esq. succeeded in rebuilding the reddish dunes of Mars ( it`s true, without water, as he was not familiar with the new discovery ),but when it came to the romantic (some people say it`s too sugary, but I looove sugar!) “A Good Year “didn`t need any illustrators, a specialist in 3D or tens of meters of chroma-key. No!
The spectacular Provence offered the director some magic moments and it was more than a simple setting for a love story with many beautiful examples: it was the main character.
On my next holiday in Provence, I`m going to invite you to remake Mr. Scott`s  “itinerary” and the route of  his characters from the movie with USA rhythm and French sweetness. And I put my own map at your disposal, the one I had during my colored journey.
I started with Gordes

then there was Château La Canorgue-can you rememeber? It was in this place that you could find Max`s inheritance from his uncle, the impressive estate, with its mysterious air, with its gardens and its so picturesque colors. The residence which is famous thanks to the movie - you can enjoy a wine tasting here - it`s only a few kilometers away from Bonnieux, the village on the hill, from where you can admire Lacoste and the ruins of its famous castle.

The bistrot from the Hôtel le Renaissance, which is owned by Fanny in the movie, is as vibrant and full of guests as always and skulks in a corner of a charming small square in Gordes.

Then I arrived in Cucuron, in the exquisite Place de L`Étang, a place whose charm was perfectly caught by Mr.Scott, with the pond and the band from the date scene of Max and Fanny.

And I obviously checked Menerbes and Lacoste, too, catching all the aromas in the air and all the views on my camera…
