Can you remember those moments when you gaze at the most virtuous of us, those people who turn apparently easy moments into a real show or do incredible tricks, leaps, choreography with the ease of the most common  routine? It’s a graceful, "wow!" moment, when you feel you belong to a magic tale and you enjoy it like an innocent child because you are the witness of such lovely seconds, aren’t you?

Eh, that’s how I felt (more than I can describe), about two hours at the Shanghai Acrobatic Troupe Show. I had already seen those artists on TV, in some reports or documentaries, a long time ago, but the feeling I had there, in the hall, was unimaginable and very hard to tell. However...I`ll try.

It’s not as spectacular as the Cirque du Soleil, with flamboyant set-ups and acts which take your breath away, but it’s more like a combination of gymnastics, elegance, I’d rather say, with many elements from  Chinese culture and an extraordinary ability of the acrobats to contort. From the girl who was spinning in all directions, inside a circle, to the one who was climbing a ladder, without even hesitating, with glasses put in the shape of a pyramid (she was grasping them with her teeth!!!) to the perfect rope walking acts and hula-hoop, what I can say is - I know it sounds a bit simplistic, but I swear I can’t find a better word than wow!

While watching the show, it was as if I had seen paintings and famous pictures, revealing  the finesse and elegance of the Chinese art, transposed into real life, in movement, sublime parchments which were being brought to life. And the holograms behind the artists completed my feeling in a natural, discrete and inspiring way.

The perfection of a movement and a vision which undoubtedly means art. Because it offers, tells about...emotion! And so much color!
